Tagging Citations

Once a Citation Entry task has been reviewed and approved in the Mapper tool, and if the Citation is not a stub, informational, or information gathering, the next step is to identify and tag mandates.
Tagging facilitates the process of matching mandates to Common Controls while allowing readers to quickly identify mandates by alleviating the need to navigate the full content of each citation.
Tagging is accomplished in the Mapper tool by highlighting each mandate's focal nouns and verbs (called primary and secondary nouns and verbs in the Mapper tool) and selecting the definitions for each tagged term to best match the context of the mandate.
